Self-compassion and job satisfaction of Filipino workers across their decision-making styles are constructs of the present study being presented in the field of work. This paper aimed to identify the decision-making style; describe and measure the degree of self-compassion and job satisfaction; and determine the difference in self-compassion and job satisfaction across decision-making styles among respondents. The General Decision-making Styles Questionnaire (GDSQ), Self-compassion Scale, and Job Satisfaction Survey were administered to 359 respondents who aged from 28-60 years old, regardless of gender, across different companies in Calabarzon. The respondents were employees from entry level positions, supervisors, as well as executive level positions. Results have shown that rational, intuitive, dependent, avoidant, spontaneous, and dependent were the decision-making styles among respondents. Organizational management is one of the most crucial functions in the modern business context. Also, the most vital resource is the human resource within the organization who drives the organization to its’ ultimate goals and objectives. We should put our kind attention on human resources because it is the only live asset that the organization has. Similarly, it has the potential to develop. It has different attitudes, feelings, emotions, etc. There is a famous saying that, “If we look after the employees, they will look after the organization”. So it derives the importance of human resources within the organization. Every successful organization has a strong leading character. It looks like a role model for our life. We believe in those characters, their views, their attitudes, etc. But there are different types of leaders. Nowadays, most people are in a competition or in a hurry to manage work and personal life. Everybody hopes to be empathically understood by others at work. Because as humans, almost all the needs are the same. Every person is looking to satisfy their needs as much as they can, disregarding the positions, designations we have. Thus, if as a leader he/she could understand his/her subordinates’ feelings, emotions, etc, or be empathic, it is very important in the current business context. This can be treated as compassionate leadership. This paper review the concept of compassionate leadership and suggest it as a very much applicable practice to the current business context and the manager should drive the organization with the use of a compassionate leadership vehicle, which is more comfortable to everybody concerned, easy drive, and easy to reach the intended targets competitively.

This study examines the relationship between self-compassion, mental health and work ethics and the mediational role of self-compassion in relation to work stress and mental health. 114 employees of the Hyper-Star were recruited via convenience sampling and responded to the scales of Self-Compassion (SC), Anxiety-Depression (AD), Self-esteem (SE), Work ethics (WE) and Perceived Stress (PS). Data was analyzed by Pear-son Correlation Coefficient and path analysis. According to the results, perceived stress has a direct relationship with anxiety and depression and a reverse correlation with work ethics, life satisfaction and self-esteem. Despite the high and meaningful correlation of self-compassion with both mental health and perceived stress in isolation, self-compassion does not have any mediational roles with these factors. After considering cultural relationships, according to French management system and employees of Iranian nationals, it can be concluded that self-compassion variable has a lack of consistency with Iranian culture and cannot play a role in terms of Work ethics. This clarifies the taking effect of self-compassion from culture and inconsistency of the Persian culture on self-compassion.

Self-Compassion as the Predictor of Flourishing of the Students

The study aimed to examine the impacts of self-compassion and gender on the human flourishing of the participants. Five hundred undergraduate and postgraduate students with an equal number of male and female served as the participants in the study. The age of the male participants ranged from 17 years to 25 years (M = 20.13, SD = 2.15) whereas the age of female participants spanned from 18 years to 25 years (M = 19.89, SD = 1.85). Self-Compassion Scale (Neff, 2003a) and Mental Health Continuum-Short Form (Keyes, 2005) were employed to measure the self-compassion and flourishing of the participants, respectively. The results of the study exhibited no gender differences in self-compassion and flourishing of the male and female participants. The male and female participants with low, average and high levels of self-compassion differed significantly in their evocation of mean scores of flourishing. The results of the study also evinced that scores on self-kindness, common humanity and mindfulness components of self-compassion demonstrated positive correlations with the hedonic human flourishing, social well-being, psychological well-being, eudaimonic human flourishing and overall human flourishing. Contrarily, the scores of self-judgement were found to be negatively correlated with the scores of human flourishing and its components of the male, female and all the participants. It is evident that the positive components of self-compassion were positively correlated with the different components of human flourishing. Lastly, the results of the study demonstrated that the scores on self-kindness, common humanity and mindfulness components of self-compassion accounted for significant variance in the scores of hedonic human flourishing, social well-being, psychological well-being, eudaimonic human flourishing and overall human flourishing. Conversely, the variance caused by the scores of self-judgement, isolation and over-identification parts of self-compassion in the scores of these measures was low and statistically non-significant positive. The results of the study have significant implications for the researchers, academicians, laymen, counselors and clinical psychologists. Communication Skills and Self-Compassion Levels of Teacher Candidates

The purpose of this study is to examine the communication skills and self-compassion levels of teacher candidates and to make suggestions in view of the obtained data. Accordingly, it was aimed to examine the subject matter deeply by using together the qualitative and quantitative methods. The population of the research is composed of the teacher candidates studying at Buca Faculty of Education, Dokuz Eylül University, İzmir, Turkey. The sampling of the quantitative dimension of the research is composed of 498 teacher candidates who are studying at senior classes of 14 different under-graduate programs of Faculty of Education, Dokuz Eylül University and who have been chosen through stratified sampling. The study group of the qualitative dimension of the research is composed of a total of 42 students (n=23 female, n=21 male). According to the findings obtained at the end of the study, the communication skills of teacher candidates were observed to differ in accordance with their departments; on the other hand, both their communication skills and their self-compassion levels were observed to differ according to their perceived personality types. Accordingly, the self compassion scale’ score averages of those perceiving themselves to be timid and assertive are observed to be higher than those who perceive themselves as aggressive. Depending on this finding, it is understood that the ones who have the lowest communication skills level are those teacher candidates perceiving themselves to be aggressive. Qualitative results support quantitative results. Besides, in the consequence of the study, it was observed that there is a positive correlation between “self-kindness”, “common humanity” and “mindfulness” dimensions of “self-compassion” scale and all dimensions of communication skills; and there is a negative correlation between “self-judgment”, “isolation” and “over-identification” dimensions of “selfcompassion scale” and all dimensions of communication skills. * Öğr.
