Summer 2024 Opening Times

Palace

The Palace is open 7 days a week for the 2024 Summer season.

29th March - 31st October 2024

10am - 5.30pm (last entry is at 4pm). Coffee Shop and Food Shop close at 4.30pm.

Gardens

Please note last entry is at 3pm on 1st October as we are hosting a private event.

Scone Palace is one of Scotland's favourite visitor attractions. It offers a great day out for all, full of history, art, outdoor activities, Gift & Food shops, and a Coffee Shop.

Explore the stunning art and architecture of the Palace, follow in the footsteps of 42 Scottish Kings across the Moot Hill, adventure through 100 acres of Gardens and Grounds, and relax in our Old Servants' Hall Coffee Shop with a famous Scone at Scone.

Kids Explore the Gardens for FREE

Get outside this summer and discover where nature meets history in the enchanting grounds of Scone Palace with all children under 16 getting to explore the Gardens for free until the end of 2024.

Tickets

Booking tickets is advisable for visiting the Palace and Gardens. We also offer season tickets, garden admissions, Friends of Scone Palace memberships, events tickets, and group bookings. if tickets are showing as not available, it may be because we have an event on that day. Please visit our Events page for more details.

How To Get Here

Scone Palace is located in the heart of Perthshire, in central Scotland. It is very easy to get here using public transport and by car or cycling. Here you can find details on how to get to Scone Palace.

By Car

From Dundee, Edinburgh or Glasgow, follow the signs for the ‘A93 Braemar’. We are situated two miles north of Perth on the A93.

By Bicycle

We have racking available for the storage of cycles. For information on cycle routes in Perthshire please visit Perth and Kinross Council. For information on cycle hire please visit Scottish Cycling Holidays. Details of the National Cycle Network can be found here.

Public Transport

By Bus

Stagecoach number 3 leaves from South Street, Perth and Stagecoach Strathtay number 58 leaves from Perth Bus Station or South Street, Perth. For more information visit Stagecoaches website: www.stagecoachbus.com.

By Rail

Perth Rail Station is situated 3 miles from Scone Palace. For more information visit Scotrail's website https://www.scotrail.co.uk. Taxis are readily available for the 10-minute trip from the station to the Palace.

By Air

Scone Palace is a 40 minute drive from Edinburgh International Airport. Follow the signs for Perth (M90), and then for Scone Palace. The smaller airport of Dundee is 22 miles away. Scone Airport, which has facilities for light aircraft, is 10 minutes away.

Dog-Friendly

Scone Palace is a dog friendly venue allowing behaved dogs on leads to enjoy walks in the grounds. We provide watering points and poo bins throughout the site, for wellbeing, convenience, and use.

Dogs on leads are welcome in our Old Kitchen and in our Shop, as well as through the Gardens and Grounds.

We also allow you to bring your furry friends to Scone Palace for our outdoor events throughout the year, including our annual highlight Paws at the Palace.

At all times the dogs are with their owners, it’s the owners who have a legally responsible for their wellbeing. If we see any pet in distress, in a vehicle or otherwise, then we as a venue will follow the SSPCA advice on actions to follow.

Eat at Scone Palace

From our Coffee Shop to our Old Kitchen Restaurant we provide warm home cooked meals as well as delicious baked treats and our famous scones. We endeavour to use produce from our walled gardens and to support local farmers with a farm-to-fork ethos.
